Etienne
Etienne (fl. 1519) was an apprentice to Leonardo da Vinci during the last year of the inventor's life, while he was residing in Amboise, France.
Biography
After the elderly Leonardo became bedridden, Etienne was responsible with bringing him food, though his master would often refuse to eat and ask that the food be given to "a poor deserving soul in the street". Etienne was also known to steal from Leonardo's wine cellar, a fact which his master was fully aware of due to smelling it on his breath.[1]
One day in 1519, after Leonardo dismissed Etienne, the inventor received a surprise visit from his old friend, Ezio Auditore da Firenze, who had been hiding behind the door to his room. After the two caught up with each other and shared stories from their past, Ezio left through the window. Moments later, Etienne walked into the room to check on his master and found the window open and Leonardo fast asleep.[1]

- Etienne is an alternate spelling of "Étienne", which is the French version of the name Stephen or Steven.
