The Elizabeth Bridge was a bridge over the Wien River in Vienna, Austria.
History
In 1853, former soldier Simeon Price found the acrobat Pierrette Arnaud performing on the bridge for a moderate crowd. After telling her to stop, Price told Arnaud solely that he cannot help her for Ada Lovelace's last wish. Before going, Arnaud stole back Ada's notebook from Simeon as she made her way on a moving boat below the bridge.[1]
Behind the scenes
The Elizabeth Bridge was one of multiple bridges named after Empress Elisabeth of Austria, Emperor Franz Joseph I's wife.[2]
