Egertes was an Elean man living in the Linou Farm in the 5th century BCE Greece.
The neighbour of Menalkas, Egertes observed the farmer's strange behaviour, and gave his own opinion to the Spartan misthios Kassandra as she investigated Menalkes' case. Though devout in his beliefs, including his trust in the Eagle Bearer's grace and goodness, Egertes was convinced that the source of Menalkas' problems was earthly rather than divine.[1]
Afterwards, Egertes withdrew to Linou proper, awaiting the promised feast for the Eagle Bearer along with others.[2]
