"My people can't go without sleep any longer."
―Edyt to Eivor upon arriving in Ravensthorpe[src]-[m]

Edyt was a Scottish-Norse seer from the Isle of Skye.

Biography

Not much is known about Edyt, except that she was known as an old childhood friend of the Norse seer Valka and her mother Svala.[1]

Edyt travelled to England, after her island was plagued by nightmares. There, she sought out Valka in Ravensthorpe and presented the case to her and the settlement's shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir, who agreed to help as best she could given the unusual circumstances. Eivor and Edyt traveled to the Isle of Skye as Edyt detailed on how the people of Kiltaraglen were being affected. Edyt let Eivor know that if she needed her help, Edyt would be found in her hut near Kiltaraglen.[2]

After the nightmares ended, Edyt came to the wedding of her cousin's and met with Eivor again. Eivor and Edyt talked about if Valka's vision was correct and that Randvi was behind the nightmares. Eivor admitted that Randvi was never here and Edyt was glad that Eivor did not say farewells to a friend. As the party continued, Eivor and Edyt spent the whole night talking as the whole island was free from the plague of nightmares.[3]

Behind the scenes

Edyt is a name of Anglo-Saxon origin meaning "joyous".
