Ece Ashkar
Ece Ashkar was an Ottoman Assassin in Constantinople, and took part in a number of missions under the command of Yusuf Tazim, prior to Ezio's arrival in Constantinople in 1512.[1]
Biography
Some time after the 'Little Judgement Day' Yusuf learned of a large number of mercenaries that were preparing to target the Assassin headquarters in Galata. Ece along with a number of fellow assassins were tasked to defend the headquaters.[1]
At a later time Ece was tasked with travelling to Bursa in order to create an alliance with Prince Korkut. Korkut's 'clumsy response' made the Templars aware of the negotiations, and the Prince's envoy was tailed to the meeting. Ece and a group of Assassins 'destroyed' the Templar pursuers. After a meeting with Prince Korkut, Yusuf had agreed with the Prince that in return for the Prince's coffers to be open to the assassins, the assassins escorted the Prince's advisors to Antalya, where his father, Sultan Bayezid, had made him Governor. After vocing his concern of the Prince taking administative power of such an important city, Yusef told Ece to "Never underestimate a father's overestimation of his son's abilities".[1]
On the road the Assassin Escort, containing Ece were attacked by Templar Agents. The assassin's prevailed and delievered Korkut and his men safely to Antalya. The Assassins were given weapons and gun powder (enough to equip the Sultan's army) for their protection.[1]
When preparing to travel back to Constantinolpe, the assassin's recieved news that large numbers of Templar were training in Rhodes, the home the Hospitallars. The Assassin's believed there was little doubt the Order of St. John were supporting or at the least turning a blind eye to the Templars. Yusef decied that they needed to know if this is where the mercenaries that have attacked them previously were being trained.[1]
A highly skilled strike team was then selected to travel Rhodes to assess the Templar's training program, Ece was choosen for this task. If the Templars were training in Rhodes, the Strike team were to hit hard and quietly, so that they would cause fear into the training mercenaries. Before Ece and the strike team set sail, Yusuf pulled the assassin aside and informed him that the Italian Mentor Ezio Auditore had left Rome a number of months previosuly and was bound for the Holy Land. the messenagers that bought the information had told Yusef they believe it was his travels was in relation to the Templar threat. Ece believed that Ezio's expertice would be needed, stating that "Lacking our own Mentor for the time being, we stand ready to welcome the Maestro (As I believe the Italians call him) from Italia".[1]
