Fiora Cavazza, a Templar agent of Cesare Borgia, came to the Donato and asked him to lose the upcoming horse race against Cesare. He refused to and barely won the race but with dire consequences. He was severely punished by Cesare but was still employed as an agent.
Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood
A merchant defeats Donato in a race and Donato responds in a angrily to his defeat by destoying the merchant's stand and threatening his life. This is made known to the Assassin Ezio Auditore da Firenze who decides to kill Donato. He locates him on horse-back and his guards at the Circus Maximus. Ezio proceeds to only kill him and gives him his last rites.

Profession: Captain.
A veteran soldier under the Borgia, Donato also served in the city guard. The chroniclers at court describe him as a cold, loyal enforcer and an expert rider.
I'm not able to get in very far, but the Abstergo servers contain a small piece of data about him: "One of Cesare's top horsemen, Donato Mancini's skill is only surpassed by his ego."
