Dominique Bûches

- "I don't recognize that list of names either. But it's quite the coincidence that the first letters of those names spell the word 'providence'."
- ―Bûches on Jean-Paul Marat's list of Girondists, 1793.[src]
Dominique Bûches was a senior member of the Girondist party during the French Revolution.
After the assassination of Jean-Paul Marat, Arno Dorian visited Bûches at a shop on 20 rue des Cordeliers to question him about a list written by Marat that supposedly named several Girondists. Not recognizing any of the names, he noted that the first letters of each name spelled the word "providence".[1]
