Djon the Woodsman was an Norse man from Rygjafylke, Norway in the 9th century.

By the 870s, Djon recently lost his mother, Asa, and was given the responsibility to take care of his father, Hysing, whose mind was deteriorating. Djon soon grew tired and hopeless after Hysing's condition seemed to worsen. Djon soon caught his father with a guest, the Viking Eivor Varinsdottir, who was told of Hysing's condition. With Djon's help, Eivor decided on how to treat Hysing on her visit. After Hysing left them, she told Djon on his courage and honor of taking care of his father. Djon thanked her as she left him to continue his care for Hysing.[1]
