A jinn (Arabic: جن), also romanized as djinn or anglicized as genie, is a supernatural being in Arabic culture. Among their abilities is shapeshifting and the granting of wishes.[1] These beings are often in the employ of a master, who commands their powers.[2]

In the 9th century, seventeen year old thief Basim Ibn Ishaq struggled with nightmarish visions[3] of a djinn[4] as a consequence of Loki's consciousness manifesting within his mind.[5]
