Database: The Giant Iscariotte

At the beginning of July 1789, a rumor spread throughout Paris concerning the "Giant Iscariotte", a depiction of a brightly-colored character covered in green scales and wearing iron armor, with hair made of snakes with gaping, blood-red mouths.*

From time to time, the Giant Iscariotte would return to personify other political events (the September Massacres, the nationalization of church property, and so forth).
