Where are the paintings?

An incredibly rare mineral, mythical by today's standards, Silica was somewhat more commonplace in Svartalfheim, where dwarves would mine for it and use refineries powered by their mills (or 'mylnas') to somehow activate or 'awaken' the Silica.

While the specifics of the science are lost on me, what's clear is that the awakened Silica was seemingly an energy source, akin to a battery, and was apparently very desirable to the invading Muspels.

But what utterly fascinates me is the notion that the Silica can retain these awakened properties for millennia, as seen from the few pieces to appear in Ancient Egypt.
