Daidalos

Daidalos, also spelled Daedalus, is the father of Ikaros in Greek mythology.

Biography

According to Greek legends, Daidalos wrought the infamous labyrinth beneath the Knossos Palace on the order of king Minos of Krete, to house the Minotaur.[1]

Influence

During the Peloponnesian War, a fort by the city of Gortyn in Messara was named after him.[1]
