Crabs in Greece

A crab is decapod Crustacean of the infraorder Brachyura. They live in all the world's oceans, in fresh water, and on land, are generally covered with a thick exoskeleton and have a single pair of claws.

History

The crabs were a common sight on the shores of Greece in 5th century BCE, though they fled the moment anyone approached them, burying themselves in the fine sand.

Later on, these crustaceans were immortalized as the constellation Cancer.
