The Coppergate Market was a market street in York, England, during the Medieval period. At its height, the market housed a vast variety of merchants ranging from craftsmen to weavers and glassmakers. In addition to merchants selling good froms wood to bones, slaves were also sold at the market.^[1]

In 874, Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan strolled through Coppergate Market and searched for any transactions or mentions of the dockmaster Grigorii. During her investigation, Eivor tried to bribe stall owners with silver for information about Grigorii, to no avail. However, Eivor was soon told by a young boy that "The Needle", an Order of the Ancients member that Eivor was hunting, operated past a statue near the market. Eivor followed all the clues and located the entrance to The Needle's hideout.^[2]

In 885, the merchant Thorsteinn Silvertongue and his wife Gunnhilda Gunnarsdottir owned a stall at Coppergate Market. One day, after moving crates to the stall together with Trygg, Thorstein was approached by Bjorn. He told Thorsteinn about his troubles with selling his wares, and how he had ended up in heavy debt. He asked Thorsteinn for help, which was granted as Thorsteinn gave him several items to sell to get the debt collectors off his back.^[3]
