The Coppergate Market was a market street in York, England during the Medieval period. At its height, the market housed a vast variety of merchants ranging from craftsmen to weavers to glassmakers. In addition to merchants selling good froms wood to bones, slaves were also sold at the market.[1]
History
In 874, the Viking shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan strolled through Coppergate Market and searched for any transactions or mentions from the dockmaster Grigorii. Through her investigation, Eivor tried to bribe owners with silver for information about Grigorii but to no avail. However, Eivor soon discovered that The Needle operates past a statue near the market from a young boy. Eivor followed all the clues she found to an entrance of the Red Hand's hideout.[2]
