The Colosseum's artwork.

The Colosseum, or Roman Coliseum, is one of the most famous landmarks of Rome and is featured in the upcoming Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood. The player is able to climb to the top of the Colosseum, as it had been shown that Ezio Auditore da Firenze and his apprenticed Assassins scaled it in 1503. It is also revealed to be one of the secret locations in Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood. [citation needed] Both pieces of Colosseum artwork shown thus far show executions by crucifixion taking place inside them, though who they are and why they are being executed is currently not known. These depictions are probably historically inaccurate, since by the Renaissance, crucifixions had long ago fallen out of fashion in favor of burning at the stake. During the time when the Borgia family ruled Rome the Colosseum became dilapidated and began to crumble. It is unknown if during Ezio's restoration of the city the Colossuem was also restored.
