Clonfert Abbey

Clonfert Abbey was an abbey, named after Celtic monk Brendan of Clonfert, located in southern Connacht, Ireland.

History

In the late 9th century, the Viking jarlskona Eivor Varinsdottir and her longship crew raided the abbey and acquired trade post supplies for Ireland's trade posts.[1]
