The Cemetery Road, also known as the Cemetery of Athens[1], was a cemetery located northwest outside the city of Athens, Greece. The cemetery was a state-funded collective burial mound for soldiers who died in combat and contained a number of private tombs.
After the plague in 429 BCE, Kassandra's friend Phoibe and the Athenian statesman Perikles, who were both killed by the Cult of Kosmos, were buried in the cemetery.[2] In 422 BCE, Kassandra met with Sokrates at the cemetery to reminisce about their time spent together.[1]
