Brizo was a goddess in Greek mythology, known as the protector of mariners, sailors, fishermen. She was also known as a prophet who would speak to men through prophetic dreams.

In Delos Brizo was widely worshipped to a point that Delians had at some point constructed a shrine within the settlement on Mount Kynthos. By the time of the Peloponnesian War, only ruins of the settlement remained.[1]

Trivia

  • Her name is derived from the Greek word βρίζω (brízō) meaning 'to insult, to curse'.
