Blacksmith (Animi Avatar)
- "More than a mere tool, his Hammer defines the Blacksmith. He hits it hard against huge pieces of metal, making a strong and powerful sound. The Blacksmith uses the same gestures to smash his targets' heads. Funny, he often muses, the sound is quite different then..."
- ―Ubisoft Description

The Blacksmith (real name Augustine Oberlin) is an unlockable multiplayer character in Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood. He uses a large hammer as his primary weapon. He was a Swiss mercenary and appears in the story mode of Brotherhood as a Templar Agent. To unlock the Blacksmith, the player has to reach level 15.
Fiora Cavazza was actually shocked by him, as he gave the impression of a brute while being a very cultured man.
In 1503 Ezio Auditore saw a woman sitting on a bench in town beaten and bruised, and he asked the woman who had done this to her. She replied that her husband changed as the Borgia gave him what he wanted and instead of him posting signs for the shops, he claimed them in the name of the Borgia and hurt any who stood in his way. Ezio tore down the Borgia posters one by one until Augustine heard of this. Enraged, he found Ezio and attacked with brute force, aided by his axe, but instead fell by the blade of the Assassin, putting his control over the neighborhood shops to an end.
