Ezio, my friend! How may I be of service? This article has a lot of room for expansion. Please improve it with additional information in accordance with the Manual of Style |

The Black Axe was an axe which once belonged to a famous pirate who operated in ancient Greece. After the state of Keos imprisoned the pirate, they claimed his possessions including the axe.
During the Peloponnesian War, the axe was acquired by the Spartan misthios Kassandra.[1]

Behind the scenes
The Black Axe, a weapon in Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, shares the same model as the commonly found Ceremonial Axe, another weapon in the same game. These are both the recycled model of the Mushussu, a weapon in Assassin's Creed: Origins, which itself was based on a type of axe called "gazelle-headed axe" from the Mughal Empire in the Indian subcontinent. Its appearance in both games is anachronistic.
