Bernard Kenway was a sheep farmer from the British Isles and a ancestor to Edward Kenway and his progeny; as such, he was also an ancestor to Desmond Miles.

In the year 2013, the Abstergo Entertainment researcher Philippe Chartrand was given Bernard as his research target for the Sample 17 Project.
