A belt is a piece of clothing which may be used as part of a light armor.

History

In 5th century BCE Greece pieces of light armor worn around the waist were commonly called belts. Over the course of her travels within Greece, the Spartan misthios Kassandra found many belts, varying in styles and sizes.
