9th century Belas Knap

Belas Knap is a long barrow and ancient monument, that dates back to 3000 BCE, that was used as a pagan offering site in 9th century Glowecestrescire, England.

History

In the late 9th century, the Viking shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan travelled to the long barrow and probed its surroundings. Within her search, Eivor found four chest keys, opened a treasure chest within the monument, and claimed the Isu shield, The Morrigan's Guard.[1]

Behind the Scenes

According to its history, Belas Knap was used successively for multiple burials and had a false entrance to deter any thief from robbing any of its graves.
