Bats are small flying mammals belonging to the Chiroptera order.

Most bats are nocturnal creatures that use ultrasounds, listening to echoes, to fly around in the dark. During the day they're often found in caves and other dark places to sleep and hide. Many species of bat eat fruits and insects, but a few species drink blood from cattle, sheep or deer.

History

shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir encountered a colony of bats in the old Roman caverns beneath the eastern part of the city of Ledecestre, near the old Hidden Ones bureau and an roman artifact.[1]
