if the lone eagle is about haythams entire life, that would be more based on the book Assassin's Creed: Forsaken (great read actually, and i don't even like reading). In the book you see that, near the end of his life, Haytham wanted to be a sort of link between the Templars and the Assassins, and the reason he was a Templar and not an Assassin was because at a young age, Edward, his father, was killed in a burglary, and a family friend, who took Haytham under his wing, was a Templar. Throughout most of his life he was lied to by his mentor and said that his dad wanted him to be a Templar. I dont really wanna spoil anything more so i'll leave it there
