I really, really thought, this had been explained and finished with, If i remember right they said the red footprints were a gameplay mech so players coudl find their way to the Sanctuary and that IF there really needed to be an explaination it was Shawn and Rebecca taking the equipment into the sanctuary....and that sometimes thinks are as they are purely because they are... if remember right McDevit (or someone else) said the footprints are Red because they were Red and for no other reason. The finger was only ever folded back...because the practice of cutting your finger off finished in Altair's reign as said in his Codex. so over 800 years later i doubt they will resort back to losing a finger. I really don't think Lucy is a traitor, infact at the moment we do not even know if she is alive...
