Brotherhood and AC2 were indeed great games but I don't remember the anticipation for their release to be overwhelming, maybe because to fanbase was smaller back then. For AC3 though, which I still consider to be a fantastic game, there were so many trailers, gameplay vids and articles which created huge and diverse expectations.
