Almost every Templar in I, Revelations, and III believed in the Templars' goals.

And not all Templars were bad at fighting; Cesare and Rodrigo could hold off Ezio for a brief period, Al Mualim was able to hold back Altaïr, and Hayham could easily have killed Connor on their first meeting.
