I veto just about any game that does not have difficulty settings, once I have to restart 20-30 minutes or restart a couple of times (I hate wasting time). I don't see why game designers are so retarded about this one.
Grand theft auto is a great game franchise, but those stupid overly complex missions like boats and planes that you have to redu 30 minutes because of a small mistake, even with skip quests it is useless when you have to try 2-3 times and fail after 20 minutes because of a bad landing. If you have to include cheat cods in your game to make it enjoyable or beatable, you FAILED as a game designer. They then say people are not playing through the entire game because they get bored (hint, it is NOT boredem, it is frustration.)
Game designers that don't use difficulty settings target the same group of players, and as a result compete against a single niche. Fallout, Mass Effect, even Skyrim did so great because they were NOT mmos nor brainless button mash games. Resident evil would be better if it didn't have gods of war take down button mashing. Different Genres means you don't have to compete. But then I guess Bethesda found that out the hard way.
