i personally think it should be during world war 2. The assassin would first go to africa, then to italy, then he would make his way through france to assassinate the Templar grand master... adolf hitler. i think it would be incredable to free run on top of/over bombed buildings and ruins. plus it gives the us a very good explanation as to why the germans were dumb enough to listen to that genocidal maniac. i mean if he had the apple then it would explain how his cause got so much support so quickly.
