The same thing could be said about liberation? I think that this was the best move because I think that a large number of people who approach only one or two series of games (like meself) won't be a new console just yet (a because the price/b because it would only be for the AC games/Dragon Age games) so this seems like the best choice. 

Those with next/current-gen consoles get the chance to play Unity in all it's visual glory and parkour style booons, those of us who have last-gen consoles can play an AC game while we wait for the price of the consoles to fall and eventually work our way towards Unity. This appeals to the largest number of people this way
