There's a collectable in Rogue called "War letters" which i think, talks about that. War letters are basically small explanations for what happened between Rogue and Black Flag, conversations between Assassins or Templars and their plans.

As far as i remember, some Templar said to defeat the Aquilla but didn't sink it as a sign of respect for one of the best ships he ever met. But was left completely useless, acording to him ( Not so much acording to ACIII).

Also, there's a letter about De la Tour. I was afraid Ubi would completely change the history of the first colonial assassin, after saying that Achilles was actually trained by Ah Tabai.
