My guess is along the lines of what AOHistSupport suggested and also that he will have been the precursor to Erudito or the need for Erudito. What I mean is that I have a feeling that there will be some connection to a third faction (a break away one or newly established) that does not wish to be part of an ongoing Templar-Assassin War.
