Aveline not being mentioned in Rogue does not mean she didn't attempt to help Connor with the Shay situation. If anything, it doesn't help that Connor's fate is hinted at in such an ambiguous way, because there's no detail to it at all.

This is why Ubisoft should stop keep using this diversity bullshit and actually set out to equal the gender divide gap in their main protagonists. I feel that Aveline is a badass, but it's because they delegated her to a side platform, then upgraded her to a standalone DLC, and a small Sony exclusive DLC that she's less visible in alongside the other main Assassins, given their podium platform on the marketing department and their full game duration.

Shao Jun coming soon should help to ease this, but really it's another case of the Aveline treatment. She gets the equivalent of an arcade game, thrown in the mix at the expense of a new white guy protagonist and their DLC. Using the "diverse side character" excuse isn't that impressive any more.

People only think Elise is a badass because she just does what she wants and looks like she has more spine, but she's still a side character. She just happens to sell statuettes is all.
