The Story
Born into the Kanien'kehá:ka Valley, I was 5 when the Valley was burned almost to ashes. Kanen'tó:kon said if I wanted to play into the forest with others, I refused. I was reluctant to not go because I didn't want anything to happen in my absence.
Later that day I heard men walk from the forest as well as I see them with muskets. I ran out of the village very quickly as I turn back and see the village caught up in fire. I have never seen anything that caught on fire that fast. I heard the scream of children and others crying
