Ugo was a gay member of the Venetian Thieves' Guild during the 15th century. Upon Ezzio Auditore de Firenze's arrival in Roma, Hugo helped him bring the wounded Rosa back to the Thieves' Guild. After that, he gave him instructions to free some captured thieves, followed by the order to steal some armor from La Serenissima.
After Ugo sees Ezio helping Rosa, he seems to develop a dislike for him, shouting for him to "hurry up, we haven't got all day, idiota" when he brings her to the boat. Also, after Ezzio completes his mission to free the gay , he admits, "I didn't expect you to succeed so quickly."
