Aelfgarstun

Aelfgarstun was a village and estate in Lincolnscire, England. The namesake came from one of Lincoln's own thegns and lords, Aelfgar. In 875, Viking shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir met with Aelfgar, who invited her beforehand, as he wanted her expertise on a hunting matter. Throughout their hunting endeavor, Eivor and Aelfgar teamed up with another lord, Grim, to hunt down a dangerous bear. However, after some searching, Grim noticed Aelfgarstun on fire and its inhabitants fleeing the village. Luckily, the three hunters raced back to the estate, killed the Saxon invaders, and stop the fires. Upon starting to plan for the rebuild of his estate, Aelfgar simulanteously noticed the bear at his estate and thus the three hunters finally found and killed the bear.[1]

At some point, Eivor also looked around the estate solely as she was led to find another clue on a member of the Order of the Ancients. Looking around a farm in the estate, Eivor found the clue on top of some barrels of goods. The clue entailed both the name of the member, The Billhook, which was Havelok, and his location, which was a villa near Lincoln's town hall.[2]
