Christopher Newport (1561–1617) was an English seaman and privateer. Known for being the captain of the Susan Constant, he also had two other vessels under his initial command; the Godspeed, and the Discovery.

Legacy

In 1711, the Royal Navy privateer-recruiter Dylan Wallace mentioned Newport among other great privateers, in an effort to convince the sheep-farmer Edward Kenway to join up,[1] which he later would aboard the Emperor.[2]
