the symbol of christianity

Christianity is a monotheistic religion which originated from a sect of Judaism, in Middle East. The leader of the sect was Jesus Christ, a legendary man who was renown for his divine wisdom and a number of miracles. The adherents of Christianity are commonly known as Christians, but during the Crusades, they were also conventionally called Crusaders by their enemies.

The religion had quickly spread across the world thanks to the Romans, Spaniards and British during the Age of Discovery.

Churches, which are places of worship for this faith, are prominent features in cities which have historically boasted a prominent Christian presence or which have been influenced by Christian / European culture.

As of the 21st century, Christianity is the largest religion within the world and has a huge number of denominations.
