Actually Ubisoft said some few things about the vehicles in their website. 

They said we could "commandeer" a train and have fistfights on top of it, though "keeping your balance" on top of it would be difficult. There would also be carriage races to earn some money. And :"I wouldn't recommend a swim in the Thames, unless youve got a taste for industrial muck" and thats where the riverboats come in.
