@Sima: I'm assuming when Birch referred to America, he meant the whole of America. Why would he have sent Haytham to the Colonies without any real help, if they had a base in the Caribbean? Birch could easily have asked for the Carib Templars' help, especially considering that there had been Assassins there for at least three centuries, and Haytham would need more than just 5 loyal friends to defeat them.
