Didn't Lucy choose Ezio to train Desmond and to ind more about the Vault? I thought this is why the Animus said "searching relevant memory data" "memory match found". It didn't say latest ancestor in common. And I say latest because you wrote "earliest" and the earliest ancestor would be Adam, I think.
