Template
Woah, nice job with Template:Character Infobox! When I edited it I was just trying to fix it- it was all distorted on my monitor (a tremendous 1920×1080 one). I wasn't trying to do anything like what you did, but nice job! Elecbullet 18:54, 7 July 2009 (UTC)
- well.. thanks! ^^ you did a nice job as well by creating and re-wording the articles~ - SilverSummonerTaLk 04:38, 8 July 2009 (UTC)
Template, again
Hi there, uh, I realize now that it appears that Template:Character Infobox was created specifically for the Altaïr article. How many characters in Assassin's Creed worth noting actually have weapons? How many characters' weights do we actually know?
- Al Mualim - four unknowns
- Desmond Miles - two unknowns
- Altaïr - zero unknowns (Was made specifically for him I think)
- Malik - Three unknowns
- Ezio - 2 unknowns
Furthermore, there are other characters (Lucy, Vidic) whose pages could use this template, and they'd have a bunch of
I suggest that we only have six infobox spaces:
- Image
- Image description
- Name
- Faction
- Appears in
- Time period
Because those are the only ones that really matter. We'd have to edit all the pages using it.
"Appears in" would refer to which game. "Time period" refers to 1191, or 2012? − Elecbullet 19:26, 8 July 2009 (UTC)
- Sure thing. I was going to change it and make it somehow similar to Template:Target Infobox.. but not too sure back then~ ^^;
- While we're at it, I think we need a navigation bar as well, no? - SilverSummonerTaLk 01:58, 9 July 2009 (UTC)
- Like Template:Assassin's Creed on Wikipedia? I was thinking about doing that myself.
- The templates on this wiki really needed work when I got here. All the file licensing templates were white text on white background. Heh. − Elecbullet 02:28, 9 July 2009 (UTC)
- Yeah sure, like that one. But I think we need to expand it a little... I have some rough ideas on mind..... =D
- not only the templates, to be honest.. the categorizing system and the articles need some massive clean up.. xD - SilverSummonerTaLk 02:37, 9 July 2009 (UTC)
- IMPORTANT: When you make the infobox you MUST use consistency in capitalization! It's
faction=notFaction=. Correct template:

- I fixed the pages for you. Also, I see you went through the articles. Assassin's Creed is set in 1191, but you should use the words "Third Crusade". The purpose of the Period section is to differentiate between characters in 2012 or in the past. − Elecbullet 03:46, 9 July 2009 (UTC)
- Sure. thanks for the fix and tip. in case you don't realize I'm a human as well, so I made small mistakes sometimes... but you don't have to tell it in an extremely clear way.... =D - 03:53, 9 July 2009 (UTC)
- Gotcha. I'm trying to figure out this damn parser function. − Elecbullet 04:13, 9 July 2009 (UTC)

Template, again

Okay! I think I got it! Using a sandbox template I made, I figured out parser functions. Now, if you leave a parameter blank (i.e. "name= ") the parameter's line will NOT be shown.
This also applies with the image= parameter. If you leave it blank, it will omit the entire image area.
On the right, you can see the infobox with the image= parameter and the period= parameter left blank. The entire part is omitted. If a value is assigned to all parameters, it looks just like the Character Infobox template.
NOTE: If you LEAVE OUT a parameter entirely (delete the "|name=" too) it breaks the infobox. So keep that in mind.
Try it out!
{{X1
|image=
|imgdesc=
|name=
|faction=
|appear=
|period=
}}
Think we should replace the character infobox with this? It's looking pretty promising. − Elecbullet 04:59, 9 July 2009 (UTC)
AC
Holy crapmackerel you've been busy. Nice job with the template! I was expecting something much smaller.
But if I may comment, uhh, the "Terms" section seems a bit unnecessary. It has a lot of terms that seem too minor and unimportant, like Feather, Scholars, Thugs, Vigilantes, and Assassin's Code of conduct (WTF is that? Is that even from the game?!?).
I do realize that you've put a lot of work into this. I just want to comment about that "Terms" section. − Elecbullet 07:01, 13 July 2009 (UTC)
- Assassin's Code of conduct is kinda weird, though.. I wanted to ask you bout that, since I don't recall seeing that in the game @_@. Well it's clear now.. gotta remove that one.
- "Terms" is well... used to describe the terms that appears in the game. ^^; By any chance, are you a wikipedia editor? is it your first time editing wikia? =D - SilverSummonerTaLk 07:21, 13 July 2009 (UTC)
- I occasionally edit Wikipedia with the account Elecbullet. But this is the first wikia wiki I've ever contributed much to.
- As for terms, I know what it means but it just seems so frivolous... There are some valid things, like Synchronization (which I created btw) but those could go under Gameplay.
- Hmm... I see... then you gotta take a look at this =D This is much bigger compared to the one this wiki have xD. And they have around 15+ templates like this....
- as for the Terms and Gameplay, then besides synchronization, what other articles do you think should stay under gameplay and terms? - SilverSummonerTaLk 07:41, 13 July 2009 (UTC)
- As for Final Fantasy, I don't play that (played Chocobo's Dungeon 2 on Dreamcast once though) so I have absolutely no idea what any of those terms mean. They do seem more major than the terms in our template, i.e. Save Point as is opposed to Feather.
- Remember that you can use the sandbox template instead of worrying about royally screwing up some page. The sandbox template should NOT be placed on any articles though.
- As for Terms and Gameplay, here is a quickly-typed guide:
| Keep | GTFO | Move |
|---|---|---|
|
|
|
- By the way you don't have to stay up for me- go get some sleep if it's late! I really should but screw that
- Honestly I still don't understand why do you want to keep those things such as the interrogation or pickpocketing plays a big role in the terms. If you think it's minor because of the size of the article, they we just need to expand it. I mean, these terms has their parts and indeed contribute to the game aspects. That's why I don't think they're minor.
- btw I'm not living in america or europe as you might think. ^^ and it's still 4.26 pm here in my place - SilverSummonerTaLk 08:26, 13 July 2009 (UTC)
- It's not for the article size, it's because thugs, scholars, etc. play a minor role in the game. And we're naming Investigations, and then going on to name each individual investigation too, which is sort of silly. You could add things to Terms, and to Gameplay, too, if they fit. For example, there ought to be a link to Controls under Gameplay. Well anyway it's late here, off to bed. BBL
- As for the investigation, the article 'Investigation' is supposed to tell about the purpose of investigation, the reason and yada yada yada... and that page will have link to Interrogation, pickpocketing, which is the 'way' of handling investigation. ^^
- For scholars, thugs... well indeed they are minor, but they still have roles in this game. Which is exactly why I put them under Terms. Well unlike wikipedia, in wikia we try to list all available page possible in the navbar. ^^ That way, so the readers who don't know anything bout the game will somehow get the full coverage.. if you know what I mean. ^^ - SilverSummonerTaLk 16:46, 13 July 2009 (UTC) btw I'm still gonna do some major changes on the navbar~
- I still think it should be removed. We could vote on it, but you know, we're like the only people active on this wiki so it'd end up being 1-1.
- You think it should be removed just because it's minor and will make the template size bigger? hmm... so what if it's minor? it still counts, though. It's still part of the game and still contribute to the gameplay. Indeed, maybe some links on the template should be removed and replaced. But I don't think we should remove that much... Hell I've been editing wikia for 11 months and those people always make it that way @_@~ - SilverSummonerTaLk 12:39, 15 July 2009 (UTC)
- Just forget it. I don't know a damn thing about Final Fantasy so I have absolutely no idea if any of those Terms are minor or not. You made the think collapsible so it doesn't really matter anymore.
- I'm getting back to work. They really screwed up the color scheme, wtf. − Elecbullet 19:20, 15 July 2009 (UTC)
Re:wat the hell was taht?
"La shai wak'ion motlaq bal kollon momken" is "Nothing is true, everything is permitted" in arabic. Altaïr says it to Al-Mualim when he kills him.--PhantomT1412 15:24, 21 July 2009 (UTC)
- well then... if that's the case, it's better to say it in english, no? this is an english wiki after all - SilverSummonerTaLk 00:30, 22 July 2009 (UTC)
William
Really quick, this isn't worthy of a forum thread so I'll quickly explain.
William of Montferrat, and all assassination targets, are in fact secretly Templars.
But William has the armor of a Crusader. Crusaders have the lion emblem on them. You can see the emblem in the pic of William. Their red color can be mistaken for that of a Templar, but crusaders are not necessarily Templars.
P.S. You might consider deleting all the above topics they are quite... imposing - Elecbullet 07:57, 27 July 2009 (UTC)
P.P.S. That edit you made to Flags had only a minor difference in display normal monitors, and makes it look very odd on big monitors like mine. Unfortunately, because of this, the center alignment isn't so good. Sorry. - Elecbullet 08:15, 27 July 2009 (UTC)
