Finger amputation
"This amputation is part of the initiation into the Hashshashin sect, which the Assassins are based on." To me, this sounds like the real life assassins did that. I thought that was an in-game contrivance? If it's real, and they really did do that, could someone source that? And, if not, could it please be reworded? Thanks. 90.206.121.92 09:54, December 4, 2009 (UTC)
- "Patrice Desilets, the creative director of the game stated that the addition of a second blade in Assassin's Creed II also had a lucid reason: it's the sequel, it's Assassin's Creed II so there are 2 blades."
- Cool, so Assassin's Creed 3 will have 3 blades? Then where will it be :D 203.162.3.165 14:06, January 18, 2010 (UTC)
- If there was a third, it would probably be on his foot or something... (J.h.jaraub 20:18, January 18, 2010 (UTC))
- I agree--Sangheili wunna be 21:33, January 18, 2010 (UTC)
- I agree aswell. The future assassin would most likely have a mechanism under his foot that pops out a blade for kick-stabbing or something. Anyone see Deadliest Warrior: CIA vs. KGB? Apparently KGB dudes have foot-blades lol. DracoX872 02:43, September 12, 2010 (UTC)
- theres some production art of ezio with two hidden blades on the same hand, it really cool looking. i dont know what practical purpose that would have, but its possible. CarloGrimaldi 00:40, June 7, 2010 (UTC)
- Hidden blades have changed loads over the years..... The most recent I've seen are one's that if flicked one way, the blade comes out the wirst (Like Ezio's and Altair's) and if balled into a fist, a blade will come out from the knuckles making a punch attack more fatal...... I've even seen ballistics hidden blades that when the pin is pulled, gunpowder ignites and the knife shoots out at distance like a throwing knife........ EchoAltair 00:52, June 7, 2010 (UTC)
- What I don't get is why does Altair use a button to realise the blade in one of the E3 trailers? The Loyal Recruit 19:27, May 16, 2011 (UTC)
History
Guys, this article needs a History section, comprising everyhting that happened and explaining exactly what the hell is a hidden blade, not it's "uses". Like, when it was invented, who was the first known guy to use it, the rituals involving it in the crusade, the importance it had in Altaïr's mission, the upgrades made via Codex, the reconstruction by Leonardo da Vinci, etc. -- D. Cello 22:07, February 3, 2010 (UTC)
- What I wanna know is how it works.
- Ask nicely. -- D. Cello 05:23, May 30, 2010 (UTC)
- I know how 'real' hidden blades work (much different to gameplay usage) and I also know why they were invented but don't know how I would put it in the article without it relating to the gameplay.......EchoAltair 00:58, June 7, 2010 (UTC)

- most people have an idea on how to make a springloaded blade pop out. but how do you make it retract ?
- Simple... but I'm not telling you, cause it is *not related to the article*! -- D. Cello 22:34, June 20, 2010 (UTC)

Improvements?
Hey guys, what improvements does this article need? Can someone please make a bulleted list or something that way everyone can help add it on? DracoX872 02:46, September 12, 2010 (UTC)
- If there is one thing that this article is missing is mention of desmond's hidden blade, from the looks of it it is moere modern and significantly smaller, also the scenes where Ezio uses his blade as a lock pick. - anon
Article Name?
Should the B for blade be a capital? In-game it is... The Thief 13:23, September 5, 2010 (UTC)
- Definitely. In-game is godly-canon. :P --Piratehunter (Talk•Contribs) 16:43, September 5, 2010 (UTC)2
- Great :D The Thief 00:31, September 6, 2010 (UTC)
Mechanism
I think the new blade is rigged to them flexing their fore arm. give helpful criticism or add on.
- I think that players should just accept the fact that the damn things work in the games (and how!) There's no hope of explaining how in heck the blades extend and retract without being powered by some mythical source. The cutscenes in AC2 had Ezio kill several people with just the action of the blades extending. We should suspend our disbelief in the hidden blades just as we've done for the animus.--CasualGamer 05:40, December 29, 2010 (UTC)
Where did it go?
Anyone wanna have a long debate about what happened to Ezio's dad's hidden blade and bracer after he fainted on his way to Rome? It just disappeared and was replaced like I said on the Trivia. Any theories? :P Bonkorz 02:30, January 6, 2011 (UTC)
- My theory: Machiavelli or his men find Ezio passed out on his way to Rome. He discovers that the bracer is broken, but not the blade, or any of the other killing bits. While the new robes were being made/delivered, a new bracer was made to fit the undamaged hidden blade mechanisms (gun, poison and all). The poison blade, the gun and the repaired hidden blade come from Altair's codex. I have to assume that nobody but Leonardo could have built them. Therefore, Ezio's "new" hidden blade is actually a repackaging of Giovanni's hidden blade.--CasualGamer 00:49, January 10, 2011 (UTC)
- That AND where Desmond's bracer went? Bonkorz 02:31, January 6, 2011 (UTC)

Adding images...
Hi, I was wondering how I should go about adding a image for the duel hidden blades. It is a quality image but the gallery section just has videos and I don't want to just put it in the article (incase I screw it up). I will add the image below so hopefully the editors and admins can decide. Thanks for all your hard work on the site too! :) Kaloneous 12:55, June 28, 2011 (UTC)

I was wondering if someone could add a pic of desmonds hidden blade because I am unable to because of crap computer.

AC refference in GI Joe
If you watch the GI Joe movie (the newer one), you will notice that when Storm Shadow kills the Count he uses a hidden blade the looked very Assassin's Creed based. The only difference was that he had to turn a knob to retract it. Just thought this was interesting.
Doubt it was a direct reference. Retractible wrist blades have been in fiction since before AC.70.70.13.203 20:12, July 30, 2011 (UTC)
Bend?
Hmm... I never noticed that. Well,Falco Luce del Sud-Est, give us a picture and tell which hand. Nuclear Simon 10:40, August 10, 2011 (UTC)
Revelations?
Will you be able to get you second hidden blade back in revelations or is it replaced by the hook blade? TheDudeMan123456 21:03, October 2, 2011 (UTC)
I hope soPingoEagle 12:26, October 22, 2011 (UTC)
Do you think that, in AC3, Desmond and The Animus main characther will have 3 hidden blades?
Two on his right, one on the left... who knows?PingoEagle 12:23, October 22, 2011 (UTC)
Desmond's Hidden Blade
In Assassin's creed 2, Desmond gets a replica of Giovanni's hidden blade,
In Ac:b, where the hell happened to the bracer?!
