"Genius is one percent inspiration, ninety-nine percent perspiration."
―Thomas Alva Edison

Thomas Alva Edison (11 February 1847 – 18 October 1931) was an American inventor, scientist and businessman, famous for inventing devices such as the phonograph, motion picture camera and the incandescent light bulb.

Edison was a member of the Templar Order. Edison did not create the inventions himself, but Abstergo did, who let Edison take all the credit and reward for it.

Edison used his influence to discredit Nikola Tesla, an ally of the Assassins who had come into possession of Piece of Eden 4. Tesla had planned to set up a worldwide electrical grid with free power for all based on his discoveries from PE4. As this would have affected Abstergo's plans for worldwide control, Edison began a smear campaign against Tesla's use of alternating current, inventing the electric chair and having an elephant filmed while being electrocuted to promote public resistance to Tesla. He may have also used PE4, which was taken from Tesla and passed it on to Henry Ford, another Templar.
