Perseus was a hero of Ancient Greece. In Greek mythology, he was revered as a hero who was favored by the gods and managed to decapitate the Gorgon, Medusa, whose gaze turned people into stone, after she was transformed into a monster by the Goddess Athena who grew jealous of her beauty.

Assassin's Creed

In the Assassin's Creed universe, it is said that he was the son of Zeus, (one of Those Who Came Before) and a mortal woman, Danaë, who he impregnated by appearing as a golden shower. It is known he was in possession of the Piece of Eden, the Sword, though it is unknown how he obtained it.
