Perotto Calderon

Perotto Calderon was a Master Assassin of the Italian Assassin Order during the Renaissance.[1]
Biography
After being inducted into the Order and becoming a fully-trained Assassin, Perotto was assigned to train the young Francesco Vecellio.
As of 1498, Perotto was working undercover for the Order as courier for the Borgia when he fell for Lucrezia Borgia, daughter of Rodrigo Borgia: the Pope and Grand Master of the Templar Order. In time Lucrezia fell for Perotto as well, their relationship became more intimate and within this time Lucrezia got pregnant. A boy was born, but the baby was born malformed and, according to a doctor (the brother of Lucrezia's maid, Giulia), was likely to die in a few days.[1]
Not being able to hide such a secret as a child, Perotto was beat down and thrown into jail. With the help of Giulia and her brother, he was able to escape the prison and then, taking his son with him, out of Rome, knowing it would be impossible to see Lucrezia ever again. However, Rodrigo Borgia quickly found out of his escape and sent a detatchment of his soldiers after him, but they were overtaken by a trap set by Perotto in which the outcome was nearly all of the detatchment killed.
Perotto figured that the only thing that could heal his son was an artifact that was in possession of the Order, a certain Shroud. He headed to Agnadello, the supposed place where the Shroud was hidden, but upon his arrival he was surprised to find that his own Brothers stood in his way. Leaving him no choice, he fought them and, in the end won the fight, leaving many of them dead and the rest disabled.[1]
Reaching the room where the Shroud was held, he found it and asked it to heal his boy. After the process, the boy seemed to be healed, but was it not certain. He put the Shroud in the box he obtained it from and left.[1] However, his recklessness in rushing for the Shroud cost him dearly, as the other Assassin's held a meeting and decided that he was to be killed for his betrayal. Tracking him down to Agnadello, they scouted ahead to find and then face him, his former apprentice Francesco Vecellio amongst them. At the end the bravely fought battle, Perotto was surrounded by his Brothers, but what exactly his fate was has yet to be revealed.
Trivia
- Perotto was shown to have a stronger will than most Assassins and a resolve to rival that of his contemporary and fellow Assassin, Ezio Auditore da Firenze. Proof of this was his decision to spirit his son away from Rome, all the way to Agnadello. Perotto single-handedly took down a detatchment of Rodrigo Borgia's guards and even (when left with no choice) defeated a group of other Assassins sent to keep him from the Shroud, in which he killed a number of them.
- It is implied that Perotto was a Master Assassin like Ezio Auditore as he was allowed to take an understudy, operate by himself, and had the honor of wielding two hidden blades. Perotto also knew the location of the Shroud and its healing effects, and was capable of single-handedly destroying an Assassin encampment despite his injuries, and even lured a large group of Assassins into a trap before shooting them down one-by-one. His understudy, Francesco, even commented that Perotto's skill with a bow was unmatched by anyone else in the Brotherhood.
