The Engineer as he appears ingame

The Engineer (real name: Gaspar de la Croix) is a multiplayer character in Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, whose assassination weapon of choice is a drafting Compass.

Unique Moves

Jawbreaker (Low Profile, Front)

The Engineer grabs the victim's shoulder and pushes his compass through their jaw and inside their skull.

Headshot (Low Profile, Back)

The victim is kicked from behind so that they fall to their knees. The Engineer then stabs them two-handed in the top of their head, impaling the brain. The victim falls to the ground with blood spurting out of the wound.

Point of Impact (High Profile, Back)

The Engineer quickly comes up from behind, grabbing the back of the victim's trousers, and then pulls them backwards, while moving forward himself. He then jams the compass into their back, impaling one of their kidneys. The victim collapses to the ground, bleeding to death internally .

Backfire (High Profile, Front)

The Engineer walks up to his target from the front and reaches around their head, grabbing their neck. He pulls them forward, then delivers a quick but fatal stab to the small of their back.

Colors:

• Basic: Red/Orange
  
• Extra 1: Dark Green/Brown

Gear:

• Advanced: Satchel is changed to black.
  
• Superior: Black cap, black leggings, black boots, black tinted glasses, puffier forearm sleeves, added black gloves.
  
• Elite: Added black upper body clothing extending from neck to bottom of chest

Trivia

• "De la Croix" is French for "of the Cross." This is likely a reference to his Templar affiliation. It is also possible that he is French.
• Before the launch of the Brotherhood Beta, he was referred to as "the Merchant."
• According to his Database entry in Brotherhood, his profession is labeled as "Sniper," due to his appearance in an Abstergo Agent Mission, wherein he killed a man with an arquebus from a rooftop.
• When Ezio kills Gaspar he slides his hand over his face to close his eyes even though he is wearing glasses, and the glasses don't move.
