The Café du Louvre was a café and Assassin social club in the Le Louvre district of Paris, France.

History

At some point after receiving stewardship over the Café Théâtre in 1791,[1] the French Assassin Arno Dorian renovated the café with 1,500 as a social club for the Assassins. After the upgrades, the Assassin Council delivered a mission notice there for Arno to assassinate the French Templar Jean Gilbert, who had exposed an attempt by the Assassin Mentor Mirabeau's friends to free Marie Antoinette before her execution.[2] Later, they requested that he investigate the existence of the "Black Office", the House of Bourbon's secret intelligence agency.[3] In 1794, they sent him an assassination contract to eliminate the Enragés' Spanish member Andrés de Guzmán, who was a driver behind their executions of moderate Girondists.[4]
